With the aim of protecting the Asian country Ocean, the governments of Seychelles and Republic of Maldives announced a starring joint research project recently. The inquiry project titled "First Descent: Midnight Zone" will go happening for 35 days, gathering critical information to conserve and prioritise management and designation of the Marine Protected Areas.

The Explore Project will be exploring the seamounts in the "Midnight Zone". Instantly, the "Midnight Zone" or the "Davy Jones Zona" refers to ocean areas that are 1000-4000m deep. These areas are homes to some of the unequalled species of sea organisms.

As of now, only 2% of the sea is protected. Scientists embroiled in this research project plans to extend that auspices to 30% of the ocean.

"A healthy planet necessarily a healthy sea. The time to act is instantly. Seychelles is committed to sea conservation and aside the remainder of Demonstrate, we bequeath have 30% of our Ethel Waters established A protected areas." , aforementioned the President of Seychelles, Danny Faure.

The "First Descent: Midnight Zone" is one of the exploration projects in a serial. It will constitute carried out by a team of 50 international scientists, researchers, technicians and crew members. The series of expeditions is existence carried out by a UK charitable research institute named Nekton. The roast inquiry project wish beryllium carried out by scientists of Nekton and Oxford University University. They will be working with and for the governments of Seychelles islands and Maldives.

Dr Lucy Woodall, the Principal Scientist of Nekton said, "Seamounts have high levels of life diversity and biomass with a complex mosaic of habitats. They provide stepping stones between coastal areas that can act equally nurseries for juvenile fish and are highly tillable sportfishing grounds".

Now, to go through the mission, the scientists and researchers will be using numerous research tools and the world's most steep-tech submergible. The tools wish include map, sampling and sensing engineering on with landers. For exploring these deep parts of the ocean, the team will be using a pigboat called "Limiting Factor". It is built past Triton Submarines and is the only if manned vessel that can go to the deepest parts of whatever ocean.

The project testament use the "DSSV Pressure Expend" A the Mothership and it just completed trials in the Mediterranean before setting sail for Seychelles. The exploration will be starting in Seychelles on the 16th of March, 2022.
